Fascination muscles, tendons, fasciae

fasciae

He who rests, rusts!

Special exhibition from February 11, 2016 - February 2017

Humans have 650 different muscles that are not only used for locomotion or for showing off. The heart muscle is vital for survival. Eating, breathing, speaking and laughing would also be unthinkable without muscles. Exercising your muscles keeps you mentally fit and stimulates energy metabolism and stem cell production. If you exercise, you stay strong and smart. Muscles work in conjunction with fascia, a still mysterious connective tissue that envelops every bone and every organ. Every person carries around 20 kilograms of fascia with them.
The exhibition takes a multifaceted look at the structure, function and trainability of muscles, tendons and the unknown sensory organ of fascia, as well as various diseases and their treatment options.
